The Job

Liquid waterproofing is one of the biggest areas of work in waterproofing and continues to expand. Liquid waterproofing is used on every building from below ground to the roof.  Operatives need to be able to use a wide range of materials, know how and where to apply them. The specialised nature of the work means good operatives usually work on their own initiative.

Many companies are moving to applying liquid waterproofing, creating a strong demand for operatives.  Good qualified operatives can look forward to making good money either working with companies or starting off their own business.  You can be working on a major contract such as the Olympic siteon one day and then working on a house the next. The use of liquid waterproofing is now so widespread that no two days will be the same.

Once qualified, a liquid waterproofing operative can work anywhere in the world as liquid waterproofing is wanted wherever buildings are being put up.  The work is physical but not hard. You need to be able to get up early and work hard but when the work is finished you will know that your work will stop water from getting into that building for many years to come…….anywhere in the world!

The People

Anyone working in the roofing trades needs a head for heights and must be happy to work outdoors. You'll also need to be good with figures, as you'll be calculating areas and volumes of materials. Safety awareness is essential.
