Employers take on graduates without degrees in built environment disciplines because they value the different perspectives and experiences these graduates bring. If you've taken your first degree because of subject interest but with little idea of a career, or you're frustrated and bored in your job then you should consider the CIOB Graduate Diploma.
The diploma provides academic eligibility for full CIOB membership for students without construction-related degrees (non-cognates). To achieve full chartered status (MCIOB) through this route, whilst being supported by an employer, will take approximately three years. You must already be employed in the construction industry to be eligible for this course - as it is a work-related programme. So, if you are interested in construction please approach employers in the first instance.
There are 12 modules to the diploma and the first will run in October 2005. The 2005 course is now almost full - however please contact Anna Price on 01344 630790 for further information.
