Why did you choose this career?
I chose this apprenticeship as it was an opportunity and the
reason that I like it is that it's helping me with my learning -
I've been working on site, learning the ins and outs of the job,
now I'm working in the office and learning even more about it.
What do you do day-to-day?
At work in the office I will be mostly estimating and I could be
doing things from helping out in the admin section through to
surveying or even answering phones.
What's the coolest thing you've done so
far?
The thing that I am most proud of is that I was working on the
biggest building in Europe. Me and my fellow apprentice were at the
start of our apprenticeship and we'd just built our own wall which
was pretty nifty.
What are the good bits about your job?
What I like about my apprenticeship is that it's a good
opportunity for every young person, because it helps you learn,
gives you money and keeps you off the streets.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
I can see myself developing my skills on site and in the office,
learning more about the company and the cold form steel framing
system, and maybe even someday running the company.
