Which company do you work for?

I work for Frank Haslam Milan. They're a construction company with offices around the UK. They do refurbishments and new builds.

Why did you choose this career?

At the age of 16 I didn't have the mentality to want to succeed in life. So I got to the age of 18 and realised that I couldn't carry on being a bum so I took myself down to Connexions where I applied for a job which was my apprenticeship in Plastering. I got it! Getting my job was amazing!

What do you do day-to-day?

The skills that I've gained whilst doing my apprenticeship are general plastering skills and the confidence to be able to work in a professional environment.

What's the coolest thing you've done so far?

The coolest thing and the thing I'm most proud of in my apprenticeship is the more complex work, that is, working in situ which is more artistic. I enjoy that.

What are the good bits about your job?

The main thing I like is that it's practical, it's artistic and it's also enjoyable.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

In 10 years time I see myself gaining lots more subject of study and I'll be running my own business.
