What's involved

This role involves fitting suspended ceilings which often hide ductwork, cabling and pipe work, air-conditioning and other unsightly features.

Skills required

All the work undertaken is indoors but you could be working high up, so being confident with heights is important.

You'll also need to be technically sound as you'll be reading plans and drawings and you need to be good at managing your time efficiently. You'll also need to be precise, accurate and able to follow instructions.

Qualifications required

There are no formal requirements although it would help to have GCSE's in English or Welsh and Maths at A*-C (Applications from students with the Foundation or Intermediate Welsh Baccalaureate are also welcomed).

Salary ranges

£16,000 - £26,000

Progression routes

There is the opportunity for progression to:

• Apprenticeship (level 3) in Ceiling Fixing

After gaining work experience, there are also opportunities to progress into occupational work supervision management or technical support areas.
