What's involved
There are hundreds of different types of flooring; from
linoleum, carpets and wood, to plastic or slate tiles.
As a floorlayer, you would be responsible for finding the right
material for the job and then preparing the background surface,
cutting the material to fit exactly and laying it in place.
Skills required
This is an indoor-only role which can also include working late
into the night to get the job done. The job is physically
demanding, so you need to be able to spend much of your time

cut flooring to the right size but also in the most economical
way.

GCSE's in English or Welsh and Maths at A*-C (applications from
students with the Foundation or Intermediate Welsh Baccalaureate
