Most of a partitioner’s work is done on new or refurbished commercial developments like offices, shops and factories. However, they are also brought in to work on larger projects like new hospitals, schools and indoor arenas.

What's involved
The role of a partitioner involves working in modern buildings
to put in place partitions to divide rooms. Once the partition
is fitted it can be finished by adding glass or decorative
coverings.
Skills required
You will need to be happy undertaking physical work so being fit
is important. You also have to be comfortable working at
height and able to follow instructions precisely and
accurately.
Qualifications required
There are no formal requirements although it would help to have
GCSE's in English or Welsh and Maths at A*-C (Applications from
students with the Foundation or Intermediate Welsh Baccalaureate
are also welcomed).

Progression routes
After gaining work experience there are opportunities to
progress into occupational work supervision management or technical
support areas.
