Good bits about your job?
Seeing a building take shape and knowing that you've been part of that process. I also enjoy the varying nature of activities involved in surveying. I enjoy liasing with the various parties involved on a project, from the architects through to the trade contractors.

Why did you choose your career?
Previously I was working for the Bank of Scotland as a bank clerk, however in 1999 I became a mature student and started studying towards a degree in Quantity Surveying, I eventually left university with a first class degree.

Where would you like to take your career in the future?
"At some stage within the next 2-3 years, I would like to live and work abroad on a project - preferably somewhere hot and sunny!
