What do you do day-to-day?
I'm office based most of the time but get out to site every few weeks to check on progress. I've become a bit of a computer expert working on contract payments and cost estimates. There's a lot of IT involved in my job.

What advice would you give to prospective students?
Definitely go for it! Every day is different.

What does the future hold?
I might go on and do my degree and join the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors. If not, there are lots of other ways to progress my career within the company. I'll just have to see.

Why did you choose this career?
I wanted to go into the construction industry but couldn't decide between surveying and architecture. My technical teacher suggested quantity surveying as I was interested in working with figures.
