What do you do day-to-day?
As a site engineer for Wates Construction sites, I am responsible for the setting out and co-ordination of the building. I liase with the ground workers and bricklayers to ensure that the building and structure is to the correct standards. I also work in close contact with the site manager.

What are the good bits about your job?
The cameraderie on construction sites is second to none, no-one is frightened of voicing their opinions and I am constantly on the go! It sounds like a cliche but every day is different. I love the problems that my job sometimes throws up but even more rewarding is solving them!

If you were to recommend your job to someone else, what would you say?
Don't be afraid of new challenges!

Where would you like to take your career in the future?
I would love the opportunity to work abroad.
