Working independently as well as part of a team you should have an interest in plastering, joinery & be comfortable working at heights.

You'll also need to be enthusiastic, well organised, self motivated, and punctual. 

The aim of this opportunity is to recognise the knowledge, skills and competence demonstrated by an External Wall Insulator in the workplace. This Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Insulation and Building Treatments (Construction) provides the opportunity for individuals who specialise in activities associated with installing of boarding and/or finishing of External Wall Insulation to demonstrate their competence.

Skills required

You'll need to be good at technical subjects or have an interest in technology to do this job. You'll also need to be good at solving practical problems and have good colour vision to recognise colour coded wires.

Good communications skills to deal with a range of people are important and you'll need to be enthusiastic about your work.

Applicants need to be enthusiastic, well organised, self motivated, and punctual.  You need to be able to work independently as well as part of a team

Qualifications required

There are no set entry requirements, although GCSE's in Maths or English may be helpful for calculations and theory.

Salary ranges

(This is a guide to the average salary and a fully qualified and experienced person might expect to get in excess of this.)

From £16,000 - £20,000

Progression routes

Achievement of this qualification will provide opportunities to further qualifications and training such as Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Occupational Work Supervision.
