As a Tool Hire and Rental Desk Operative it is your job to ensure the right tools are in place at the right time to keep the construction industry moving.
A tool hire and rental desk operative needs:
- Knowledge of plant and equipment
- To be a good organiser
- Good at working in a team
- Have a good eye for detail
There are no specific academic requirements needed to train as a
Tool Hire and Rental Desk Operative, although a good knowledge of
tools and small plant machinery would be an
advantage. Training will be given and qualifications are
available including Level 2 and Level 3 Vocational qualifications
plus a Specialist Apprenticeship Programme in Hire Desk
You will also receive Health and Safety training.
The wages are in line with the Construction Industry Joint
Council (CIJC) once qualified which would be between £15,000 to
£20,000 per year.
Progression from this pathway is varied you can either remain in
the role or work your way up through formal training to be a
Controller, Supervisor, Manager or Depot Manager
